Anita Fraundorf
Past Chair
A handbell ringer since 1977, Anita Fraundorf started directing at Our Savior’s Lutheran (Duluth) in 1995 when the church purchased a 2 octave set of Schulmerich bells and needed someone who had seen a handbell before to lead the group. Anita’s involvement with Area 7 (vii) began when she was recruited to Chair the 2004 Festival Conference in Duluth. She followed that with 4 years as Northern Minnesota Sub Area Chair (2004-2008) and reprised her Festival Conference Chair role in 2012. In addition, Anita chaired 8 Twin Ports Area Fall (handbell) Festivals between 2001-2013. A graduate of UMD in Elementary Education, Anita coordinated the Duluth School Age Care program for 25 years before retiring in 2012. Presently she directs the Northern Bell Chimes ensemble, works “part-time” as church secretary, and continues to ring in First United Methodist’s Cast in Bronze (Bill Alexander, director). Anita’s two children and two of her three grandsons have all been ringers at the “Coppertop” church. Anita lives in Duluth with her husband, Bill, a non-ringer but she loves him anyway.
