* This fund is in honor of Clista Wood, an Area 7 Guild member, who loved people and handbells.  In one way or another, Clista left a memorable impression on every individual she met.  She heard what you said, and she made you feel important.  The scholarship fund attempts to carry on this legacy.

NEWS FROM RECIPIENTS

Landon McNamer, 2018 Festival Conference Clista Wood Scholarship recipient.

I would like to thank you for the honor of being chosen as the recipient of the Clista Wood Scholarship Fund. I read on the website that Clista Wood loved handbells and people. She left a memorable impression on every person she met by making them feel like they mattered and important. I hope to continue that legacy as a member of the Area 7. I am going into my final year at Luther College, where I have been doing my best to brighten people’s days by making them feel good about themselves. I ring with the Luther Ringers as well. I emphasize teamwork with my fellow ringers during every rehearsal. Thanks to this scholarship, I’m able to continue what I do with more financial stability.

My experience at the Area 7 Conference was one filled with numerous learning and growth experiences. I had the opportunity to assist the board members with set up and tear down before and after the conference. Through this, I was able to meet each of them and get to know them better. I cannot wait to go to the next conference in Duluth and continue the legacy Clista Wood started.
